System BIOS and Resources HP Setup Program Security Menu Table 4-3 describes the fields available in the Setup program Security menu. Table 4-3 Security Menu Field Description Administrator Password Set Administrator Password Clear All Passwords User Password Set User Password Power-On Password Start from Floppy Start from CD-ROM This field is view-only. It tells you whether there is an Administrator password set. This password prevents unauthorized access to this your Workstations Setup program. This password can also be used to start the computer when the power-on password is Enabled. You must set an administrator password before you can set a user password. Selecting this field and pressing Enter clears both the User and Administrator passwords. This field is view-only. It tells you whether there is a User password set. If an administrator password has been set, you can enter this field to set a user password. The User password prevents unauthorized access to this your Workstations Setup program. This password can also be used to start the computer when the power-on password is Enabled. If Enabled, you must enter a password before the Workstation boots. You can only enable this field if an administrator password has been set. If Disabled, unauthorized use of the floppy disk drive to start the computer is prevented. (The drive is still available for reading and writing data.) If Disabled, unauthorized use of the CD-ROM to start the computer is prevented. (The drive is still available for reading data.)
