Netfinity Manager is included with this server. If you do not install Netfinity Manager, many of the advanced features of the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor will not be available to you. For information on how to install Netfinity Manager, see the "ServerGuide and Netfinity Manager Information" section of this Server Library. This section of this Server Library explains how to use the Advanced System Management service with the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor that is included with the server. This service can also be used to manage other Advanced System Management hardware, including: - PC Server Advanced System Management Adapter Option - Netfinity Advanced System Management PCI Adapter (included with the Netfinity 7000 M10 server, and available as an option for use with servers that include the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor) The features available with the Advanced System Management service vary depending on the Advanced System Management hardware that they are managing. For detailed information on using the Advanced System Management service with Advanced System Management hardware other than the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor, see the documentation that is included with the option or the Server Library that is included with the server. With the Advanced System Management service, you can configure system-management events (such as POST, loader, and operating-system timeouts or critical temperature, voltage, and tamper alerts). If any of these events occurs, the Advanced System Management service can be configured to automatically forward a Netfinity alert in one of four ways: To another Netfinity system using the modem To a standard numeric pager To an alphanumeric pager To another Netfinity system using the network connection (available only when using Advanced Netfinity 5600 - Type 8664 63
