Installing Device Drivers This chapter describes how to install device drivers for the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor. Notes 1. If you plan to install Netfinity Manager, you must install the required device drivers before you install Netfinity Manager. 2. For a list of supported operating systems, see http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/netfinity/ on the World Wide Web. 3. If you plan to install Windows NT from diskette (using ServerGuide), you must also use the ServerGuide Diskette Factory CD to create Advanced System Management device driver diskettes for use during the operating system installation process. Required Device Drivers: The following device drivers are required: For OS/2 operating system: IBMSPO.DLL and IBMSPO.SYS For Microsoft Windows NT operating system: IBMSPW.DLL and IBMSPW.SYS For Novell NetWare operating system: IBMSPN.NLM Device-Driver Installation Instructions: The device drivers necessary for the Netfinity Advanced System Management processor to function properly can be installed in one of two ways: Using the ServerGuide Netfinity Applications CD (OS/2 and Windows NT only). To install the device drivers with the ServerGuide Netfinity Applications CD, follow the instructions provided on the CD. Using the ServerGuide Diskette Factory CD to create the diskettes that you will need to install the device drivers (OS/2, Windows NT, NetWare, or UNIXWare). You will need to create the Netfinity Advanced System Management Device Driver Diskette. Note This diskette contains device-driver information for all operating systems that are supported on Netfinity servers that include Netfinity Advanced System Management processor hardware. Follow the instructions provided on the ServerGuide Diskette Factory CD to create the diskettes.
