O 0 * The AF spotbeam can be used when the focus mode switch is set to [SINGLE]. * If you do not wish to use flash, first lock the focus with the flash released, and then retract the built-in flash. * If a dedicated flash unit in use projects an AF spotbeam as in case with the AF330FTZ, the AF spotbeam in the built-in flash does not operate. * The AF spotbeam will not project in a bright place. When the shutter release button is depressed halfway down after popping up the flash, a red beam (AF spotbeam) is projected to help the camera accurately focus on any subject within a 1m to 4m range
