Using the Shutter Priority Mode/Using Manual Mode Using Manual Mode In manual mode, you can adjust the aperture, shutter speed and gain independently. (1) Slide the AUTO LOCK switch down to the center position. (2) If any of the PROGRAM AE indicators is displayed, press PROGRAM AE repeatedly so that no indicator appears in the viewfinder. IRIS P.FS SHUTTER SPEED GAIN 00 Adjusting the aperture When you press IRIS, the aperture is locked at the value which was selected automatically at that time. You can now select the aperture manually from 13 values using the CONTROL dial: F1.6, F2, F2.4, F2.8, F3.4, F4, F4.8, F5.6, F6.8, F8, F9.6, F11, CLOSE. To open the aperture (larger aperture), select a lower value. [a] Adjusting the GAIN When you press GAIN, the gain is locked at the level which was selected automatically at that time. If you adjusted the aperture manually prior to adjusting the gain, the gain level is set according to the aperture setting. You can now select the gain manually from 8 levels using the CONTROL dial: -3 dB, 0 dB, +3 dB, +6 dB, +9 dB, +12 dB, +15 dB, +18 dB. To increase the gain to brighten the picture, select a higher level. [b] Adjusting the shutter speed When you press SHUTTER SPEED, the shutter speed is locked at the speed which was selected automatically at that time. When you press this button again, the speed is locked at 1/100. Subsequent press of the button locks the speed at 1/1000. You can now select from 16 speeds using the CONTROL dial: 1/60, 1/90, 1/100, 1/125, 1/180, 1/250, 1/350, 1/500, 1/725, 1/1000, 1/1500, 1/2000, 1/3000, 1/4000, 1/6000, 1/10000. To increase the shutter speed, select a smaller setting (larger value indicator in the viewfinder). Manual
Mode
In
manual
mode,
you
can
adjust
the
aperture,
shutter
speed
and
gain
independently.
(1)
Slide
the
AUTO
LOCK
switch
down
to
the
center
position.
(2)
If
any
of
the
PROGRAM
AE
indicators
is
displayed,
press
PROGRAM
AE
repeatedly
so
that
no
indicator
appears
in
the
viewfinder.

Press
IRIS,
SHUTTER
SPEED
or
GAIN.
(4)
Turn
the
CONTROL
dial
to
adjust
the
aperture,
shutter
speed
or
gain.

the
aperture

You
can
now
select
the
gain
manually
from
8
levels
using
the
CONTROL
dial:

To
increase
the
gain
to
brighten
the

press

button

speed
at
1/1000.
You
can
now
select
