When shooting in manual focus mode, you can switch to automatic focusing while you hold to slide the switch to PUSH AUTO. g AUTO LOCK switch (p.31) When you set this switch to the topmost (green) position, the camcorder adjusts the aperture, shutter speed (between 1/60 and 1/250), gain and white balance automatically. When you slide it down to the center position, you can adjust the aperture, shutter speed, gain and white balance manually. You can also use the PROGRAM AE function. To retain the settings you adjust manually, slide it down to HOLD. 19 CONTROL dial (p.31, 43) To adjust the aperture, shutter speed and gain level manually, press IRIS, SHUTTER SPEED and GAIN, respectively, and turn this dial to obtain the desired value. El GAIN button (p.43) When you press it, the gain is locked at the actual level. If you adjust the aperture manually first, the gain is locked at the level depending on the adjusted aperture value. To adjust the gain manually, press this button and select the desired level with the CONTROL dial as follows: Upward: to increase the gain Downward: to decrease the gain SHUTTER SPEED button (p.43) When you press this button, the shutter speed is locked at the actual speed between 1/60 and 1/250. Continue to press the button to change the shutter speed to 1/100, 1/1000 and Auto (between 1/60 and 1/250).
