Changing the menu settings Icon/item OTHERS WORLD TIME BEEP COMMANDER DISPLAY REC LAMP VIDEO EDIT Mode -- z MELODY NORMAL OFF z ON OFF z LCD V-OUT/LCD z ON OFF z RETURN TAPE MEMORY Meaning POWER switch To set the clock to the local time. Press r/R to set a time difference. The clock changes by the time difference you set here. If you set the time difference to 0, the clock returns to the originally set time. To output the melody when you start/stop recording or when an unusual condition occurs on your camcorder To output the beep instead of the melody To cancel melody, the beep sound and shutter sound To activate the Remote Commander supplied with your camcorder To deactivate the Remote Commander to avoid erroneous remote control operation caused by other VCR's remote control To show the display on the LCD screen and viewfinder To show the display on the TV screen, LCD screen and viewfinder To light up the camera recording lamp at the front of your camcorder To turn the camera recording lamp off so that the person is not aware of the recording To cancel Digital program editing To make programs and perform Digital program editing on the tape (p. 87) To make programs and perform Digital program editing on the "Memory Stick" (p. 139) Note If you press DISPLAY/BATT INFO with DISPLAY set to V-OUT/LCD in the menu settings, the picture from a TV or VCR will not appear on the LCD screen even when your camcorder is connected to the output jacks on the TV or VCR. When recording a close subject When REC LAMP is set to ON, the red camera recording lamp on the front of your camcorder may reflect on the subject if it is close. In this case, we recommend you set REC LAMP to OFF. After 5 minutes of removing the power source The PROGRAM AE, FLASH LVL, AUDIO MIX, WHT BAL, HiFi SOUND and COMMANDER items are returned to their default settings.
