Using the Remote Control Programming the remote control You can customize the remote control to match the equipment connected to your receiver. You can even program the remote control to operate non-Sony equipment and also Sony equipment that the remote control is normally unable to operate. Before you begin, note that: - You cannot change the settings of TUNER, BLUETOOTH, USB, HOME NETWORK, SEN, and SOURCE input buttons. - The remote control can only control equipment that accept infrared wireless control signals. RM SET UP TV AV ?/1 Input buttons ENT Numeric buttons MEMORY 1 Hold down RM SET UP, then press AV ?/1. The RM SET UP button flashes slowly. 2 Press the input button of the equipment you want to program. For example, if you want to program a VCR connected to VIDEO 1 jacks, press VIDEO 1. The RM SET UP button lights up. 3 Press the numeric buttons to enter the numeric code. If more than one code exists, try to enter either one which corresponds to the equipment including TV. Use the tables on page 109-112 to find the numeric code(s) corresponding to the equipment. Note Only the codes in the 500's are valid for the TV button. 4 Press ENT. Once the numeric code has been verified, the RM SET UP button slowly flashes twice and the remote control automatically exits the programming mode. 5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 to program other equipment. Note The RM SET UP button turns off while a numeric button is pressed. To cancel programming Press RM SET UP during any step. The remote control automatically exits the programming mode. To activate the input after programming Press the programmed button to activate the input you want. If programming is unsuccessful, check the following: • If the RM SET UP button does not light up in step 1, the batteries are weak. Replace both batteries. 108US

Programming the
remote control
You can customize the remote control to
match the equipment connected to your
receiver. You can even program the remote
control to operate non-Sony equipment and
also Sony equipment that the remote
control is normally unable to operate.
Before you begin, note that:
You cannot change the settings of
TUNER, BLUETOOTH, USB, HOME
NETWORK, SEN, and SOURCE input
buttons.
The remote control can only control
equipment that accept infrared wireless
control signals.

Hold down RM SET UP, then press

The RM SET UP button flashes
slowly.

Press the input button of the
equipment you want to program.
For example, if you want to program a
VCR connected to VIDEO 1 jacks,
press VIDEO 1.
The RM SET UP button lights up.

Press the numeric buttons to enter
the numeric code.
If more than one code exists, try to
enter either one which corresponds to
the equipment including TV.
Use the tables on page 109–112 to find
the numeric code(s) corresponding to
the equipment.
Only the codes in the 500’s are valid for the
TV button.

Press ENT.
Once the numeric code has been
verified, the RM SET UP button
slowly flashes twice and the remote
