Hot Keys and Function Keys To make your computing experience even easier, you can shorten the time it takes to carry out some operations by using preassigned function keys, called hot keys, or by assigning operations to keys through Toshiba's Fn-esse utility. Hot keys for Windows 95, Windows NT Hot keys are keys that, pressed in combination with the Fn key, turn system features on and off. Hot keys have a white legend on the top of the key indicating the option or feature the key controls. Instant password security Fn + F1 This hot key locks the keyboard and blanks the screen. You must enter your password, if registered, or press Enter to begin work again. 99
