To Begin Finding where everything's located 7 The CD-ROM ejection button opens up the CD-ROM tray and allows you to remove a CD. The SelectBay® allows you to use one of six different modules. For more details, see "Swapping SelectBay modules" on page 37. Left side Hard Disk Drive cover CPU fan USB port Power button Power button cover Security lock slot The CPU fan provides extra cooling when necessary to keep the computer's Pentium® processor from overheating. This lets the processor continue performing at its maximum speed. CAUTION: To prevent possible overheating of the Pentium processor, make sure you don't block the fan's vent. The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port provides a connection for USB peripherals. USB is a single-cabling and connection standard that supports a data transfer rate of up to 12 million bits per second (Mbps) for peripherals such as keyboards, pointing devices and a video camera. USB allows "hot swapping" of peripherals, which means that components may be plugged and unplugged while the computer is on. It is supported in Windows 95 and Windows 98.
