Using a password in Windows NT Workstation 4.0 If your computer's operating system is Windows NT Workstation 4.0, you can set passwords by following these instructions. Creating a user-level password The user-level password is the basic level of password security. For most users, this is all the password security you'll need. You may create a user-level password using either Toshiba Utilities or System Setup. This section describes how to create a user-level password in Toshiba Utilities and how to use it as an instant and power-on password. CAUTION: When you register a password in Toshiba Utilities, you cannot create a password service diskette. If you forget your password, you must contact your network administrator before you can start your computer again. To register a password and create a password service diskette, see "Protecting against forgetfulness" on page 176 to use System Setup. To create (register) a user-level password in Toshiba Utilities: 1 Click Start, point to Programs and then point to Toshiba Utilities. 2 Click Hardware Setup, click the Hardware Options button and then select the Password tab.
