Turning On/Off the Power Turning On/Off the Power The main power switch is on the left side of the machine. Turning off this switch makes the main power indicator on the right side of the control panel go off. When this is done, machine power is off. When the fax unit is installed, fax files in memory may be lost if you turn this switch off. Use this switch only when necessary. Turning On the Main Power • Do not turn off the main power switch immediately after turning it on. Doing so may result in damage to the hard disk or memory, leading to malfunctions. 1. Make sure the power cord is firmly plugged into the wall outlet. 2. Open the main power switch cover, and turn on the main power switch. The main power indicator goes on. CJS321 Turning Off the Main Power • When disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet, always pull the plug, not the cord. Pulling the cord can damage the power cord. Use of damaged power cords could result in fire or electric shock. • After turning the machine's power off, wait at least a few seconds before turning it back on. If the message "Turn main Power Switch off" appears, turn the machine's power off, wait 10 seconds or more, and then turn it back on again. Never turn the power back on immediately after turning it off. 51

Turning On/Off the Power

The main power switch is on the left side of the machine. Turning off this switch makes the main power

indicator on the right side of the control panel go off. When this is done, machine power is off. When the

fax unit is installed, fax files in memory may be lost if you turn this switch off. Use this switch only when

necessary.

damage to the hard disk or memory, leading to malfunctions.

Make sure the power cord is firmly plugged into the wall outlet.

Open the main power switch cover, and turn on the main power switch.

The main power indicator goes on.
