USING ROBOHELP HTML 9 131 Working with topics Find and replace options ❖ Select Edit > Replace. Find What Search for this word or phrase. Replace With Use this word or phrase as the replacement text. Find Next Locate the first occurrence in the text. Replace Replace selected text. Replace All Replace all occurrences. Close End the search. Allow Regular Expressions Recognize MS Word-style or UNIX-style expressions. Match Case Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string. Direction Select the direction of the search. Backward Search up from the current insertion point. Forward Search down from the insertion point. Find and replace text in files Use the Multifile Find and Replace tool to globally find and replace words in a project. 1 Select Edit > Find And Replace In Files. 2 Specify the required options and click Find. Find Search for this word or phrase. Replace Use this word or phrase as the replacement text. Named Specify the file type(s) to search. Where Specify the location to search. Case Sensitive Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string. Whole Word Exclude strings that contain the entered search string. Ignore HTML Tags Exclude HTML tags when searching in HTML files. Make Backups Back up the original files before replacing text. Overwrite Backups Select to allow existing backups to be overwritten when Make Backups is selected. Include Subfolders Select to allow searching within all subfolders in the specified folder. W3C compliance You can validate XHTML or HTML topics for World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) compliance and view error messages, informative messages, or warnings. You can validate the following for W3C compliance: Topics Do one of the following: • Right-click a topic in the Project Manager pod and select Validate W3C Compliance. • Select any topic in Project Manager view and select File > W3C Compliance > Validate. Find and replace options

Select Edit > Replace.

Find What

Search for this word or phrase.

Replace With

Use this word or phrase as the replacement text.

Find Next

Locate the first occurrence in the text.

Replace

Replace selected text.

Replace All

Replace all occurrences.

End the search.

Allow Regular Expressions

Recognize MS Word-style or UNIX-style expressions.

Match Case

Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string.

Direction

Select the direction of the search.

Backward

Search up from the current insertion point.

Forward

Search down from the insertion point.

Find and replace text in files

Use the Multifile Find and Replace tool to globally find and replace words in a project.

Select Edit > Find And Replace In Files.

Specify the required options and click Find.

Find

Search for this word or phrase.

Replace

Use this word or phrase as the replacement text.

Named

Specify the file type(s) to search.

Where

Specify the location to search.

Case Sensitive

Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string.

Whole Word

Exclude strings that

contain

the entered search string.

Ignore HTML Tags

Exclude HTML tags when searching in HTML files.

Make Backups

Back up the original files before replacing text.

Overwrite Backups

Select to allow existing backups to be overwritten when Make Backups is selected.

Include Subfolders

Select to allow searching within all subfolders in the specified folder.

W3C compliance

You can validate XHTML or HTML topics for World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) compliance and view error

messages, informative messages, or warnings. You can validate the following for W3C compliance:

Do one of the following:

Right-click a topic in the Project Manager pod and select Validate W3C Compliance.

Select any topic in Project Manager view and select File > W3C Compliance > Validate. RoboHelp validates the
