Searching a Registered Recipient by Name You can search a registered recipient by sorting in alphabetical order and send the fax. Important • It may be possible that faxes will reach unintended recipients due to the misdialing or incorrect registration of fax/telephone numbers. When you send important documents, it is recommended that you send them after speaking on the telephone. Sending a Fax after Speaking on Telephone Note • For details on the basic sending operations: Sending Faxes with the Numeric Buttons 1. Make sure that the machine is turned on. 2. Press the FAX button. The Fax standby screen is displayed. 3. Load documents on the platen glass or in the ADF. 4. Adjust the scan contrast and resolution as necessary. Note • For details on how to adjust the scan contrast and resolution, see Sending Faxes with the Numeric Buttons. 5. Press the Menu button. The FAX menu screen is displayed. 6. Use the button to select Memory dial, then press the OK button. The screen to select a coded memory dial code or a group dial code is displayed. Note • If Enter first letter is displayed on the LCD, go to step 8. 7. Press the button. The screen to enter the first letter of the registered recipient's name or of the group name is displayed. 29
