Printing Maintenance Replacing an Ink Tank Replace ink tank(s) if they are out of ink. To continue printing under the ink out condition may cause the printing trouble such as the mixing of inks, or a printer malfunction. When replacing them, check the model numbers and their installation positions. With this printer, the following ink tanks are used. z Photo Magenta: PGI-9PM z Magenta: PGI-9M z Photo Black: PGI-9PBK z Yellow: PGI-9Y z Matte Black: PGI-9MBK z Cyan: PGI-9C z Photo Cyan: PGI-9PC z Green: PGI-9G z Gray: PGI-9GY z Red: PGI-9R z Carefully check the labels on the ink tanks so you do not mistakenly insert them in the wrong positions. The installation positions of the ink tanks from the left are; photo magenta, photo black, matte black, photo cyan, gray, magenta, yellow, cyan, green and red. z Should missing characters or white streaks appear despite sufficient ink levels, refer to "When Printing Becomes Faint or Colors are Incorrect" on page 46. 35
