You can establish a Telnet session directly to the router using an IPv6 Telnet client, or an IPv6 Telnet connection can be initiated from the router. Note: Telnet to link local addresses is not supported. Command Syntax telnet ipv6 address Command Mode Purpose EXEC or EXEC Privileged Enter the IPv6 Address for the device. ipv6 address : x:x:x:x::x mask : prefix length 0-128 IPv6 addresses are normally written as eight groups of four hexadecimal digits, where each group is separated by a colon (:). Omitting zeros is accepted as described in Addressing earlier in this chapter. SNMP over IPv6 SNMP is supported on platforms c e s Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) can be configured over IPv6 transport so that an IPv6 host can perform SNMP queries and receive SNMP notifications from a device running FTOS IPv6. The FTOS SNMP-server commands for IPv6 have been extended to support IPv6.
