HP Hardware Warranty Obtaining On-Site Service If your product is eligible for on-site warranty service, you must either contact an HP Customer Care Center, an HP Sales and Service Office or a participating HP Authorized Support Provider. You may be required to supply proof of the purchase date. On-site visits resulting from defects in non-HP products-whether internal or external to the central processor unit-are subject to standard per-incident travel and labor charges. On-site service visits are subject to the following conditions: • You must verify that the latest version of the BIOS is installed on your product. You may be asked to install the latest version of the BIOS before an HP Sales and Service Center representative or HP Authorized Support Provider representative is dispatched to your site. • You must provide: access to the product; adequate working space and facilities within a reasonable distance of the product; access to and use of all information and facilities determined necessary by HP to service the product; and operating supplies and consumables such as you would use during normal operation. • You, or a representative for you, must be present at all times. You must state if the product is being used in an environment which poses a potential health hazard to repair personnel. HP or the servicing dealer may require that the product be maintained by customer personnel under direct HP or dealer supervision. • On-site service for this product is restricted or unavailable in certain locations. In HP Excluded Travel Areas - areas where geographical obstacles, undeveloped roads, or unsuitable public transportation prohibit routine travel- service is provided on a negotiated basis at extra charge. • Response time for on-site service in an HP Service Travel Area is normally next business day (excluding HP holidays) for HP Travel Zones 1-3 (generally 100 miles or 160 km from the HP office). Response time is second business day for Zones 4 and 5 (200 miles, 320 km); third business day for Zone 6 (300 miles, 480 km); and negotiated beyond Zone 6. Worldwide Customer Support Travel information is available from any HP Sales and Service Office. Response time for on-site service is subject to changes from standard conditions based upon non-local parts availability. • Travel restrictions and response times for HP Authorized Support Providers are defined by the participating HP Authorized Support Providers. Obtaining Free Parts Exchange Service For Free Parts Exchange service, you must contact either an HP Customer Care Center, an HP Sales and Service Office, or a participating HP Authorized Support Provider. You will be sent the necessary replacement parts for performing any repairs yourself. In addition, obtaining Free Parts Exchange service is subject to the following conditions: • If you contact an HP Customer Care Center and you are to receive a replacement part, you will not be billed for the call.If you are asked to return the entire bundled product for repair, the necessary parts will be provided free of charge; however, you will be billed for labor to repair your product. • HP reserves the right to validate any claims of defective parts before sending replacements for any such parts. • You must verify that the latest version of the BIOS is installed on your product. You may be asked to install the latest version of the BIOS before a free replacement part is sent to you. • HP may provide you with necessary written instructions for replacing the defective part(s). 92
