2. Remove the battery (2) from the Retail Jacket. Reverse this procedure to install the battery. Front cover Description Front cover (includes bar code scanner lens and adhesive liner) Spare part number 744030-001 Before removing the front cover, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet or the Retail Jacket. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the Retail Jacket. 4. Remove the top cap (see Top cap on page 67). 5. If installed, remove the tablet from the Retail Jacket (see Top cap on page 67). NOTE: When replacing the front cover, be sure the following components are removed from the defective front cover and installed on the replacement front cover: ● Bar code scanner module (see Bar code scanner module and Cable connector board on page 73) ● Card connector board (see Bar code scanner module and Cable connector board on page 73) ● Battery connector board (see Battery connector board on page 75) ● System board (see System board on page 76) Retail Jacket component replacement procedures 69

Before removing the front cover, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on,
and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet or the
Retail Jacket.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the Retail Jacket.
4.
Remove the top cap (see

5.
If installed, remove the tablet from the Retail Jacket (see

).
NOTE:
