5.5.1 General Settings The built-in RDP-client offers you lots of options: Windows alert sound Sound-based warnings are issued by the terminal Motion events This option is to display mouse movements but not to transfer them to the host. Mouse positions are not sent to the host before you click with your mouse. This feature basically makes the user feel to have a better performance. However, mouse-sensitive buttons are not activated with this feature enabled. Desktop cache Enables THINTUNE to cache bitmap files. Bitmap compression The RDP protocol increases bitmap transfers by data-compression. This mechanism should be used within networks with low bandwidths such as remote connections. Enabling this option lets you use bitmap compression. Encryption Activation of the checkbox disables encrypted communication Private Color Map This option is for optimization purposes when using more than 256 colours with THINTUNE. Transmit Hostname Determines if the hostname is included in the RDP data stream. If this option is disabled the MAC-address will be used instead. Default Window Size Lets you specify the window size for RDP-sessions. 30
