POST Messages POST Message Table The following table shows error messages that can appear on the screen during the power-on self-test (POST). The server might display more than one error message. Often, the first error to occur causes subsequent errors. When using the POST message charts in this section, always begin by following the suggested action for the first error message that appears on your server screen. Note that, in these charts, "X" can be any alphanumeric character. Attention: If you find it necessary to remove the server cover, first read "Electrical Safety" on page 54, "Handling Static-Sensitive Devices" on page 55, and "Preparing to Add Options" on page 56 for important safety information and instructions. Notes: 1. The actions for some of the messages require you to run the Configuration/Setup Utility program. For information on using these programs, see "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility Program" on page 28. 2. If a password prompt appears with a POST message, type the administrator or power-on password; then, press Enter. POST Message 101 102 106 Description A failure occurred during the system board and microprocessor test. Action: Have the system serviced. Chapter 5. Solving Problems 129
