Setting the Administrator Password Switch When you want to set, change, or delete an administrator password that is protected by enhanced security, you must first unlock the administrator password. To do this, change the setting of the administrator password switch from Locked to Unlocked. Before you begin: Read "Electrical Safety" on page 54 and "Handling Static-Sensitive Devices" on page 55. Turn off the server and all other connected devices. Disconnect all external cables attached to the server; then, remove the server cover (see "Preparing to Add Options" on page 56). 1. Locate the configuration switches (also known as rocker switches) on the system board. For more information, refer to the label inside the server, or see "System Board Illustration" on page 203. 2. To lock or unlock the administrator password, set switch 7 as shown in the following illustration. It might be helpful to use the end of a small screwdriver to set the switch. Note: You must know the administrator password to change or delete it. 4. Set, change, or delete your password. 5. Move the switch back to the OFF position. 6. Replace the cover. Setting the Administrator Password Switch
When you want to set, change, or delete an administrator password
that is protected by enhanced security, you must first unlock the
administrator password.
To do this, change the setting of the
administrator password switch from Locked to Unlocked.
Before you begin:
