Advanced Playback Operations Playing back a tape with digital effects During playback, you can process a scene using the digital effect functions: STILL, FLASH, LUMI. and TRAIL. (1) Set the POWER switch to VCR. In the playback or playback pause mode, press FN and go to PAGE2. (2) Press DIG EFFT. The DIG EFFT screen appears. (3) Select a desired digital effect mode. In the STILL or LUMI. mode, the picture that you select the mode is stored in memory as a still image. (4) Press -/+ to adjust the effect. See page 59 for details. (5) Press OK. The display returns to PAGE2. 1 FN PAGE2 2-5 DIG EFFT DIG EFFT OFF OK STILL FLASH LUMI. TRAIL DIG EFFT OFF OK - LUMI. + To return to FN Press EXIT after step 5. To cancel the digital effect function Press OFF in step 2. The display returns to PAGE2. Notes • You cannot process externally input scenes using the digital effect function. • You cannot record images on a tape on your camcorder while you are processing the image using the digital effect function. However, you can record images on a "Memory Stick" (p. 121, 133), or on a VCR using your camcorder as a player. Pictures processed by the digital effect function Pictures processed by the digital effect function are not output through the i.LINK (MICROMV Interface). When you turn the POWER switch to the other position or stop playing back The digital effect function is automatically canceled. 71
