Possible Cause RTC (real-time clock) battery may need to be replaced. Battery life is approximately 5 years. Speaker cable is not properly attached Possible Solution Replace the RTC battery. Refer to Appendix E, "Installing a New Battery," for installation instructions, or contact your Compaq authorized reseller or service provider for RTC battery replacement. Ensure that speaker cable is connected. System will not boot. Workstation reset automatically. Headphones plugged in Unplug headphones Expansion board assembly may not be seated properly. The unit temperature was exceeded. The fan may be blocked. If the LED is a steady amber color, reseat the expansion board assembly. 1. Unit is in an exceedingly hot environment. Let it cool down. 2. Be sure internal cables are not blocking the air intake of the power supply. 3. Contact your Compaq authorized reseller or service provider.
