Removing memory module 1. Disconnect power from the system (Pre-disassembly procedures on page 55), and remove the access panel (Access panel on page 63). Place the workstation on its side with the system board facing up. CAUTION: To ensure that memory modules are not damaged during removal or installation, power off the workstation and unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet. Wait until the LED on the back of the power supply turns off before removing memory. If you do not unplug the power cord while installing memory, your memory modules might be damaged and the system will not recognize the memory changes. 2. Remove the memory fan. Press the tab in on the memory fan housing (1) and lift the unit out of the chassis (2). NOTE: The system fan (System fan on page 70 ) must also be removed to access DIMMs in the rear slots. Removing memory module
