Before Using the Fax Machine > Quick Setup Wizard (Fax Setup) Quick Setup Wizard (Fax Setup) In quick setup mode, a wizard is used to configure the following settings. Be sure to complete the settings before using the fax system. Fax setup items Step Setting item 1.Dialing/RX Mode Dialing Mode Reception Mode Auto (DRD) 2.Local Fax Info. Local FAX Name Local FAX Number Local FAX ID TTI 3.Sound Volume Speaker Volume Monitor Volume 4.Rings 5.Output 6.Redial Normal Answering Machine FAX/TEL Switch Paper Output Reduced RX Size Retry Times Description Reference Page Select the dialing mode according to the line type. 9-7 Select the reception mode. 9-8 Select the reception pattern. 9-8 Register the local fax name printed on the fax on the 9-6 receiving system. Enter the local fax number to be printed on the fax on 9-6 the receiving system. Enter the local fax ID. The local fax ID can limit other 9-6 parties with which you can communicate. Enter the four-digit local FAX ID number. Select whether or not to print the local fax information 9-6 on the fax on the receiving system. Set the volume when pressing [On Hook]. 9-5 Speaker Volume: Volume of the built-in speaker when the line is connected by pressing [On Hook]. Set the monitor volume. 9-5 Monitor Volume: Volume of the built-in speaker when the line is connected without pressing [On Hook] such as in memory transmission. Set number of times to let phone ring before answering 9-8 a call. Set number of times to let phone ring before taking over 9-8 from the answering machine. Set number of times to let phone ring before switching 9-8 the FAX and the phone. Select paper output for the received FAX. 9-6 Reduces the received FAX size before printing if the 9-7 size is larger than the current paper size. Set the number of redials. 9-7 NOTE The settings can be changed in the system menu. Refer to Default fax settings on page 9-2 or the Operation Guide for the machine. 1-7
