Note that 1035/59.94i and 1080/29.97PsF signals are handled as 1080/ 59.94i, and 1080/25PsF signals are handled as 1080/50i. 9) It is not possible to downconvert HD-SDI input signal and output it as i.LINK compatible DV/DVCAM signals. 10) It is not possible to record upconverted signals in HDV format, or to output them as i.LINK compatible HDV signals. 11) When the HVBK-1520 Format Converter Board (option) is installed in the unit, the i.LINK (DV/DVCAM) cannot be upconverted. 12)Only 2-channel audio is supported. Notes • When a video signal is input to the HDV/DV connector of this unit, the jitter of the i.LINK transmission signal is output unchanged from the VIDEO OUT connectors. So, the display on a connected video monitor may be unstable. Note this when recording on another VCR connected to VIDEO OUT connectors. There is no problem with the image when recording to tape on this unit. • When an i.LINK cable is connected, it is not possible to output video only or audio only. Input signals and recording formats This unit can record in HDV format (1080/60i, 1080/50i), DVCAM format, and DV format (SP mode). This unit supports 2-channel mode for recording of audio signals in HDV format, and 2-channel and 4-channel mode for recording of audio signals in DVCAM/DV format. When the optional HVBK-1505 board is installed, it is possible to input analog video and audio signals. The relationship between input signals and recording format when recording is as follows. YES: Recording possible, NO: Recording not possible, ( ): number of audio recording channels Analog signal inputs (HVBK-1505) Recording format Input signal Composite 1) Component 1), 2) S-video 1) Analog audio1) Digital audio (AES/EBU) SDI SD VIDEO selected 3) HD VIDEO selected 8) i.LINK DV format (DVCAM/DV) 4) i.LINK HDV format (1080i) 5) HDV 6) NO NO NO YES (2-channel) 7) YES (2-channel) 7) NO YES (2-channel) NO YES (2/4 channels) 9) DVCAM YES YES YES YES (2/4-channels) YES (2/4-channels) YES (2/4-channels) NO YES NO DV (SP) YES YES YES YES (2/4-channels) YES (2/4-channels) YES (2/4-channels) NO YES (2/4-channels) NO 1) With the HVBK-1505 Analog Input Board (option) installed 2) It is not possible to input an HD component signal. 3) An SDTI signal is not supported. 4) It is not possible to input a DVCPRO signal. 5) It is not possible to input signals in other formats than HDV 1080/50i and 1080/60i. 6) HDV recording on this unit is HDV1080 50i/60i (audio: 2-channel mode). MPEG-2 signals other than signals in HDV1080i format cannot be recorded. This unit does not support input and output, recording, or tape playback of HDV extended format of 4-channel audio signals. 7) When HD-SDI video input is selected. 8) The HD-SDI signal formats that can be input are 1080/59.94i and 1080/ 50i. Note that 1035/59.94i and 1080/29.97PsF signals are handled as 1080/ 59.94i, and 1080/25PsF signals are handled as 1080/50i. 9) This unit cannot record HDV signals other than signals in 1080i format. HDV extended format 4-channel audio signals can be input and output unchanged. However, signals on channels 3 and 4 cannot be monitored on this unit or cannot be input and output via other connectors. Notes • Several seconds may be required for HDV format recording to start. There is a still picture of approximately 1 second at transitions between scenes. • DV (LP)/DVCPRO format cannot be recorded. • This unit does not support 16 bits: 44.1 kHz or 16 bits: 32 kHz recording in DVCAM/DV mode. • When a tape is dubbed from DV format to DVCAM format, format differences may cause functional restrictions on playback and editing depending on the recorded content on the tape. 37 Recording Formats and Input/Output Signals
