Protecting Images Still Images Movies Protect important images to prevent accidental erasure (=115). zzPress the [ ] button, choose [ ] in the menu, and then choose [ ]. [ ] is displayed. zzTo cancel protection, choose [OFF]. [ ] is no longer displayed. ●● Protected images on a memory card will be erased if you format the card (=162). ●● Protected images cannot be erased using the camera's erasure function. To erase them this way, first cancel protection. Using the Menu 1 Access the setting screen. zzPress the [ ] button and choose [Protect] on the [ 1] tab (=29). 2 Choose a selection method. zzChoose an option as desired (=29). zzTo return to the menu screen, press the [ ] button. Choosing Images Individually 1 Choose [Select]. zzFollowing the procedure in "Using the Menu" (= 113), choose [Select] and press the [ ] button. 2 Choose an image. zzChoose an image after dragging left or right to browse. Once you press the [ ] button, [ ] is displayed. zzTo cancel selection, press the [ ] button again. [ ] is no longer displayed. zzRepeat this process to specify other images. 3 Protect the image. zzPress the [ ] button. A confirmation message is displayed. zzTouch [OK]. ●● Images will not be protected if you switch to Shooting mode or turn the camera off before finishing the setup process in step 3. ●● You can also select or clear images by touching the screen in step 2, and you can access the confirmation screen by touching [ ]. Choose [Select].

Following the procedure in “Using the
Menu” (

113), choose [Select] and
press the [
] button.

Choose an image.

Choose an image after dragging left or
right to browse. Once you press the [
]
button, [
] is displayed.
z
To cancel selection, press the [
] button
again. [
] is no longer displayed.

Repeat this process to specify other
images.

Protect the image.
z
Press the [
] button. A confirmation
message is displayed.
z
Touch [OK].
Images will not be protected if you switch to Shooting mode or
turn the camera off before finishing the setup process in step 3.
You can also select or clear images by touching the screen in
step 2, and you can access the confirmation screen by touching
[
].
