Using Phone Features and Managing Contacts 75 • Touch the contact in the list to open the contact details screen, then touch a mobile phone number in the Send SMS/MMS section. A compose screen opens for your message. Note For more information about composing and sending text and multimedia messages, see "Sending Text and Multimedia Messages" in Chapter 6. To send an e-mail to a contact The contact must have an e-mail address in their contact details for you to send them an e-mail. 1. In the contacts list, touch the contact you want to send the e-mail. 2. When the contact details screen opens, touch an e-mail address in the Send email section. Note If you have more than one e-mail account set up on your device, you will be prompted to select which account to use to send the message. A compose screen opens for your new e-mail. Note For more information about composing and sending e-mail messages, see "Using Gmail" in Chapter 6. To send an instant message to a contact The contact must have a Google Talk ID in their contact details and you must have added them as a friend in Google Talk, before you can send them an instant message. Tip If you are signed in to and you added the contact as friend in Google Talk, you can check whether the contact is available ( ) via their online status indicators in the contacts list. Touch the contact to open the contact details screen, then touch the Google Talk ID in the Send instant message section. You will be prompted to sign in to Google Talk if have not signed in yet. Your chat session begins. If your contact is not available, a message will appear on the chat screen to inform you that the contact is offline.
