Entering Text 81 Special keys Search Press the Search key to search information on the current screen or application. For example, while in the Contacts tab, press the Search key to search contact-related information such as names, phone numbers, or e-mail addresses in your contacts list. Press the Search key while in Maps to search for places of interest. Press the Search key while in the Home screen or Browser to launch Google search and search information on the web. In any search bar, enter the information you want to search, then press again, or touch the Search button on the screen. Menu Instead of pressing the MENU button, you can press the Menu key on the keyboard to open the menu for each screen. This means that, with the keyboard open, you can open the a screen menu using your left hand (by pressing the Menu key) and select a menu option with your right hand (by rolling and pressing the TRACKBALL). Create application shortcuts You can set keyboard shortcuts that open individual applications when used together with the Search key. For example, if the shortcut to the Browser application is "b", then on any application screen on your device, you could press + b to open the Browser application. To assign a shortcut key to an application 1. Press HOME > MENU, then touch Settings 2. Scroll down the screen, then touch Applications > Quick launch. Note The keyboard shortcuts are organized alphabetically first (a to z), then followed by numbers 1 to 9.

Special keys
Search
Press the
Search
key to search information on the current screen or application. For
example, while in the
Contacts
tab, press the
Search
key to search contact-related
information such as names, phone numbers, or e-mail addresses in your contacts list.
Press the
