Making Duplex or Simplex Printing the Printer Default Situation: You want to set the printer default to either duplex or simplex printing. Action: 1. Press the Online key until you see OFFLINE in the display. 2. Press the Menu key until you see PAPER MENU in the display. 3. Press the Item key until you see DUPLEX=ON or DUPLEX=OFF* in the display. 4. Press the Value key until you see the new value you want. 5. Press the Enter key to select the new setting. An asterisk appears next to the value to show that it is now active. 6. To restore the printer to READY status, press the Online key. Notes: 1. Values set in print jobs by the print application or by the printer driver override values you set at the printer. If a print job specifies simplex printing and the printer default is duplex, the printer honors the print job setting and prints on one side only. 2. The BINDING item on the Paper Menu lets you specify how you want duplex jobs to print. If BINDING is set to LONG (the default value), the job prints as if the paper is to be bound along the long edge of the paper (on the left for portrait documents, along the top for landscape documents.) If you set BINDING to SHORT, the job prints as if the paper is to be bound along the short edge of the paper (on the top for portrait documents, on the left for landscape documents). Canceling a Print Job Situation: You want to cancel the job that is currently printing. Action: 1. Press the Online key to take the printer offline. 2. Press the Cancel Print key. The current job will be canceled and removed from the queue after the printer completes the pages in the buffer. 3. To restore the printer to READY status, press the Online key. Printing the Ethernet Network Interface Card Configuration Page Situation: You want to print the configuration page for the Ethernet network interface card. 1. Situation
: You want to set the printer default to either duplex or simplex
