FS728TP Smart Switch Software Administration Manual Voice VLAN Configure the Voice VLAN settings for ports that carry traffic from IP phones. The Voice VLAN feature can help ensure that the sound quality of an IP phone is safeguarded from deteriorating when the data traffic on the port is high. To configure Voice VLAN: 1. From the Voice VLAN Status field, enable or disable Voice VLAN on the switch. If the switch does not handle traffic from IP phones, the status should be disabled. 2. From the Voice VLAN ID field, select the VLAN to use for voice traffic on the switch. The VLAN must already exist on the switch. For information about how to create VLANs, see VLAN Configuration on page 82. 3. From the Class of Service field, set the CoS tag value to be reassigned for packets received on the Voice VLAN when Remark CoS is enabled. 4. From the Remark CoS field, select Enable or Disable to reassign the CoS tag value to packets received on the Voice VLAN. 5.
