Note: Use only compatible Multimedia cards (MMC) with this device. Other memory cards, such as Secure Digital (SD) cards, do not fit in the MMC card slot and are not compatible with this device. Using an incompatible memory card may damage the memory card as well as the device, and data stored on the incompatible card may be corrupted. Format memory card Important: All data stored on the memory card will be permanently deleted when you format it. You must format a new memory card before you can use it for the first time. • Select Options→ Format mem. card. You will be asked to confirm your request and once you confirm, formatting starts. Backing up and restoring information To back up information from your phone's memory to the memory card, select Options→ Backup phone mem.. To restore information from the memory card to the phone's memory, select Options→ Restore from card. Note: You can only backup the phone memory and restore it to the same model of phone. Memory card password To set a password to lock your memory card against unauthorized use, select Options→ Set password. You will be asked to enter and confirm your password. The password can be up to eight characters long. The password is stored in your phone and you don't have to enter it again while you are using the memory card on the same phone. If you want to use the memory card on another phone, you will be asked for the password. UNLOCKING A MEMORY CARD If you insert another password protected memory card in your phone, you will be prompted to enter the password of the card. To unlock the card: • Select Options→ Unlock memory card. Once the password is removed, the memory card is unlocked and can be used on another phone without a password. Checking memory consumption You can check the memory consumption of different data groups and the available memory for installing new applications or software on your memory card: • Select Options→ Memory details.
