SETTING MODE►SYSTEM SETTINGS Reset Settings Restore Factory Defaults Restores the current settings (you have selected in Setting mode) to the factory default settings. If you wish to create a record of the current settings before restoring, print the current settings by selecting [Status] in "Settings (administrator)" → [Data List] → [List for Administrator]". When settings are changed, the changes will take effect after the machine is restarted. For details on restarting this machine, see "TURNING ON THE POWER (page 1-10)". Reset the NIC This returns all "Network Settings" to the factory default settings. Optimization of a Local Drive Various devices mounted on the machine can be set. This function optimizes the local drive of the machine by defragmenting data. If a job is in progress, a message will appear and optimization will not begin until the job is finished. During optimization, the following operations are not possible: • Access to Setting mode (Web version), and reception of print data • Use of keys on the operation panel • Turning off the power with the main power switch of the machine. • Auto Power Shut-Off When optimization is completed, the machine will automatically restart. When the document filing function is frequently used and output of files seems somewhat slow, optimizing the hard drive may improve performance. 9-200
