143 Getting to Know the Windows® Millennium Edition Operating System Lesson 15: Turning off your computer Sample Windows Millennium Edition Tours & tutorials window To start a Windows® Millennium Edition tour or tutorial: 1 Click Help, then click Tours and Tutorials. The Help and Support window takes you to the Tours and Tutorial section. 2 Scroll through the list of Tours and Tutorials and select the place you want to start. 3 Click the selected topic and follow the instructions on the screen. Lesson 15: Turning off your computer It is very important that you let the Windows® Millennium Edition operating system shut down your computer. As it shuts down, the operating system performs a number of tasks that ensure that everything is in place the next time you turn on the computer. This lesson teaches you how to shut down the operating system and turn off your computer. 1 Click Start, then click Shut Down. The operating system displays the Shut Down Windows dialog box.
