Page 218 highlights

Chapter 18 The Remote Management Screens • The DNS screen (Section 18.6 on page 224) lets you control DNS access to your WiMAX Device. • The Security screen (Section 18.7 on page 225) lets you control how your WiMAX Device responds to other types of requests. • The Security screen (Section 18.7 on page 225) lets you control how your WiMAX Device responds to other types of requests. 18.1.2 What You Need to Know The following terms and concepts may help as you read through this chapter. Remote Management Limitations Remote management over LAN or WAN will not work when: 1 A filter in SMT menu 3.1 (LAN) or in menu 11.5 (WAN) is applied to block a Telnet, FTP or Web service. 2 You have disabled that service in one of the remote management screens. 3 The IP address in the Secured Client IP field does not match the client IP address. If it does not match, the WiMAX Device will disconnect the session immediately. 4 There is already another remote management session with an equal or higher priority running. You may only have one remote management session running at one time. Remote Management and NAT When NAT is enabled: • Use the WiMAX Device's WAN IP address when configuring from the WAN. • Use the WiMAX Device's LAN IP address when configuring from the LAN. System Timeout There is a default system management idle timeout of five minutes (three hundred seconds). The WiMAX Device automatically logs you out if the management session remains idle for longer than this timeout period. The management session does not time out when a statistics screen is polling. You can change the timeout period in the Maintenance > System > General screen. 218 User's Guide

18.1.2
What You Need to Know
The following terms and concepts may help as you read through this chapter.
Remote Management Limitations
Remote management over LAN or WAN will not work when:
1
A filter in SMT menu 3.1 (LAN) or in menu 11.5 (WAN) is applied to block a Telnet,
FTP or Web service.
2
You have disabled that service in one of the remote management screens.
3
The IP address in the
Secured Client IP
field does not match the client IP
address. If it does not match, the WiMAX Device will disconnect the session
immediately.
4
There is already another remote management session with an equal or higher
priority running. You may only have one remote management session running at
one time.
Remote Management and NAT
When NAT is enabled:
Use the WiMAX Device’s WAN IP address when configuring from the WAN.
Use the WiMAX Device’s LAN IP address when configuring from the LAN.
System Timeout
There is a default system management idle timeout of five minutes (three
hundred seconds). The WiMAX Device automatically logs you out if the
management session remains idle for longer than this timeout period. The
management session does not time out when a statistics screen is polling. You can
change the timeout period in the
Maintenance > System > General
screen.
