Hook Chapter 5 3. Press Hook. TEL= I You can also lift the handset of the telephone or extension phone connected to your unit instead of pressing Hook. I You can adjust the volume of the speaker. Dial the other party's telephone/fax number. Ex: TEL= 7654321 I Use one of the dialing methods described earlier in this chapter. I If you make a mistake during dialing, press Hook or put down the handset and start again from step 3. 5. When you hear the other party answer the call, pick up the handset and you can talk. I If you pressed Hook in step 3 instead of lifting the handset, you will hear the other party's voice but they will not be able to hear you through the speaker. Pick up the handset to talk to the other party. I If you hear a high-pitched signal, instead of the other party's voice, press Start/Scan. If you picked up the handset to dial, hang up the handset.
