Setting up the Interfaces of the Services Ready Platforms Setting up the WAN Interface 4 Field Connect Mode Connect on Demand Tunnel Protocol Description Choose Auto or Manual Mode. If you are using manual mode, you will need to access the Configuration Utility to establish an Internet connection through the mobile connection. Click Connect to establish a connection when required. Click Disconnect to tear down the connection. NOTE The Ethernet Connection Recovery and Interface Connection Failover works only if the Connection Mode is set to Auto. If you select Auto, you must also select Connect on Demand and Keep Alive. Select this option to enable the SRP to terminate the Internet connection after it is inactive for a specified period of time (Max Idle Time). If your Internet connection is terminated due to inactivity, this option allows the modem to automatically re-establish a terminated connection when a user attempts to access the Internet again. In the Max Idle Time field, enter the number of minutes of idle time that can elapse before your Internet connection terminates. The default Max Idle Time is 5 minutes. The Tunnel Protocol (PPTP/L2TP) is supported through a USB modem by one of these methods. • NONE. Select this option to disable protocol tunneling. • PPTP/L2TP. Select PPTP or L2TP depending on the service that you want to use. You must also provide the server IP address, user name, and password. • Follow Ethernet WAN configure. Connect Mode
Choose
Auto
