STITCH SETTINGS ■ Upper Thread is Too Tight If the bobbin thread is visible from the right side of the fabric, the upper thread is too tight. Note • If the bobbin thread was incorrectly threaded, the upper thread may be too tight. In this case, refer to "Setting the Bobbin" on page 40 and rethread the bobbin thread. 1 Bobbin thread 2 Upper thread 3 Surface 4 Locks appear on surface of fabric c Press . The settings are saved and the original screen automatically appears. ■ Retrieving Saved Settings a Select a stitch. b Press . 2 Sewing Basics Press , to loosen the upper thread. ■ Upper Thread is Too Loose If the upper thread is visible from the wrong side of the fabric, the upper thread is too loose. Note • If the upper thread was incorrectly threaded, the upper thread may be too loose. In this case, refer to "Upper Threading" on page 42 and rethread the upper thread. 1 Upper thread 2 Bobbin thread 3 Wrong side 4 Locks appear on wrong side of fabric Press , to tighten the upper thread. Saving Your Stitch Settings The settings for the zigzag stitch width, stitch length, thread tension, automatic thread cutting, automatic reinforcement stitching, etc., are preset in the machine for each stitch. However, if you have specific settings that you wish to reuse later for a stitch, you can change the settings so that they can be saved for that stitch. Five sets of settings can be saved for a single stitch. ■ Saving Settings a Select a stitch. b Specify your preferred settings. c Press the numbered key of the settings to be retrieved. * Press to return to the original screen without retrieving settings. 1 1 Numbered keys d Press . The selected settings are retrieved, and the original screen automatically appears. Memo • To save new settings when there are already 5 sets of settings saved for a stitch, press . Press the numbered key of the setting to be deleted. Press , press and then .
