GENERAL DESCRIPTIONNM C. Removing Jams The Jam indicator flashes to indicate the presence of a jam inside the machine. 0 Remove the jam with care so as not to tear it. Be sure to remove all pieces of paper if it has torn. 1) Check the multifeeder for a jam. To remove, pull the paper slowly out of the multifeeder. 2) Open the right cover, and check if there is copy paper. Remove the paper if found. 3) Shift the open/close lever to open the body. D. Adding Paper The Add Paper indictor 'P' turns on in response to the following conditions: C) When the cassette has run out of paper. 02 When the Copy Start key is pressed without setting the cassette in the cassette holder. 3 When the Copy Start key is pressed without paper on the multifeeder. 1) Check if paper is set in the cassette. 2) If the cassette is out of paper, set copy paper. If there is paper in the cassette, go through the following: C) Open the right door, and check if there is a jam. Remove it if any. CDI Take out the stack of paper from the cassette, put the sheets in order, and set the stack back in. C) Make sure that the cassette is properly set in the cassette holder. 3) Press the Copy Start key. CI The 'P' indication should go off, and the copier will make the remaining number of copies.
