List of Messages (in alphabetical order) Following the list of messages for the camcorder you can find separate lists for printrelated messages ( 113) and for messages that appear only when using the optional DW-100 DVD Burner ( 112). Access error - There was an error when reading the hard disk or attempting to write onto it. - This message can also appear if condensation has formed ( 121). Wait until the camcorder dries completely before resuming use. Accessing the memory card. Do not remove the memory card. - You opened the memory card slot cover while the camcorder was accessing the memory card or the camcorder started accessing the memory card as you opened the memory card slot cover. Do not remove the memory card until this message disappears. Avoid moving the camcorder - Try not to move the camcorder while the image is being recorded. Back up recordings regularly - This message may appear when you turn on the camcorder. In the event of a malfunction, recordings may be lost so back up your recordings regularly. Buffer overflow. Recording was stopped. - While recording on the hard disk, drops were detected repeatedly and the buffer became full. Move to a more stable location and allow data to be written onto the hard disk. If you are using the camcorder in such a situation that vibrations or drop-like conditions (for example, weightlessness) are likely to occur, set [Drop Sensor] to [Off ] ( 99). - The data transfer rate was too high for the memory card in use and the recording was stopped. Replace the memory card with one rated Speed Class 2 or higher. Cannot access the HDD - There is a problem with the hard disk. Cannot communicate with the battery pack. Continue using this battery pack? - You attached a battery pack that is not recommended by Canon for use with this camcorder. Cannot copy - The total size of the scenes you selected to copy exceeds the available space on the memory card. Delete some recordings on the memory card ( 44, 65) or reduce the number of scenes to copy ( 60). Cannot divide the scene. Initialize only using the camcorder. - The scene could not be divided because the camcorder's internal scene management data log is full. Back up your recordings ( 82) and initialize the recording media ( 33). Write back the backup files and try dividing the scene again. Cannot edit - Cannot divide original scenes and cannot move/delete original scenes or scenes in the playlist of the selected media. 107
