VPN Settings Table 6-2. Fields on the IPSEC MODE CONFIG Page Field Description Tunnel Mode Start IP Address Select a tunnel mode. Choices are: • Full Tunnel = every packet destined to the Internet or remote server goes through the tunnel. • Split Tunnel = traffic destined to the Internet does not pass through the tunnel. Enter the first address to be allocated in this pool. End IP Address Enter the last address to be allocated in this pool. Primary DNS Secondary DNS Primary WINServer Primary DNS server is used by clients connected to this router to resolve domain names. If Tunnel Mode = Split Tunnel, the DNS server should be internal domain name server. Secondary DNS Server is used by clients connected to this router to resolve domain names. If Tunnel Mode = Split Tunnel, the DNS server should be internal domain name server. Enter the primary Windows NetBIOS Name Server used by clients to resolve NetBIOS names. Secondary WINServer Enter the secondary Windows NetBIOS Name Server used by clients to resolve NetBIOS names. Split DNS Names In a split DNS infrastructure, you create two zones for the same domain, one to be used by the internal network and the other used by the external network.
