Page 62 highlights

Chapter 4: Maintaining and Transporting the Printer Your EPSON ColorPage 8000 includes several consumable parts that need to be replaced periodically. The control panel displays a message to alert you when a toner cartridge or other part is nearly used up. This is the best time to perform the replacement procedure. If you wait until the component is completely used up, the printer will display an error message and stop working until you replace the component. This chapter covers the following procedures: • Replacing parts safely • Replacing a toner cartridge • Replacing the fuser oil roll • Replacing the photoconductor unit • Replacing the waste toner collector • Cleaning the paper path rollers • Cleaning the printer • Transporting the printer Warning Replacing Parts Safely Follow local regulations when you dispose of used consumable parts. Do not expose them to fire, as they can explode and cause injury. Make sure you follow these precautions when you perform the replacement procedures described in this chapter: • Clear enough space around the printer so that you can work with the cover open or the fuser unit pulled out. • Do not remove consumable parts from the printer unless they need to be replaced. • Do not install partially used consumable parts in the printer. Be sure to check the control panel display after you replace a consumable part. You may see a message indicating that one of the other parts needs replacing. The messages appear one at a time, even if several consumable parts run out at the same time. 1
