CAUTION Top cover Facing the front of the printer, open the top cover and remove the toner cartridge. To prevent damage to the toner cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minutes. 1 Release the toner cartridge engagement arm from the inside of the top cover. The shaft of the engagement arm fits through a molded plastic ring on the left side of the top cover. Gently squeeze the locking tabs on the end of the shaft, and slide the shaft through the ring. Figure 40. CAUTION Top cover removal (1 of 3) It is critical that you perform step 1 before you attempt to remove the top cover. If you damage the arm, the printer will not operate. Top cover
Facing the front of the printer, open the top cover and remove the toner cartridge.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the toner cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minutes.

Release the toner cartridge engagement arm from the inside of the top cover. The shaft of
the engagement arm fits through a molded plastic ring on the left side of the top cover.
Gently squeeze the locking tabs on the end of the shaft, and slide the shaft through the ring.

CAUTION
