Repetitive defect ruler Repetitive print defects usually are associated with a specific roller within the printer or the toner cartridge. Use figure 126 to isolate the cause of repetitive print defects. Align the first occurrence of the defect with the top of the ruler (at the top or bottom of the misprinted page), and measure to the next occurrence of the defect to determine which roller is involved. When you are certain that your defect pattern matches the pattern of the ruler, replace the appropriate roller.
