Chapter 6 Installing an Additional Processor CAUTION Always wear a wrist-strap and use a static-dissipating work surface connected to the chassis when handling components. Ensure the metal of the wrist strap contacts your skin. 8. Open the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) lever to allow removal of the terminator installed in the processor socket. See Figure 6-3. You need to pull the lever out away from the ZIF socket and then raise it to a full 90° to the system board. Terminator ZIF Lever Processor Socket Figure 6-3. Removing the Terminator NOTE Retain the terminator for future use. The Netserver will not operate properly if using only one processor with no terminator installed in the second processor socket. 9.
