POST Messages POST message 110 111 114 151 161 Description A memory parity failure occurred during testing of the system board. Action: Run the diagnostic programs to verify that a problem exists in a DIMM. (See "Running the diagnostic test programs" on page 164 for information on running the diagnostic programs that come with your server.) See "Working with memory modules" on page 96 if you need to reconfigure the system memory to aid in identifying the defective DIMM. If this procedure does not help you to identify the defective DIMM, have the system serviced. An adapter read-only memory (ROM) error occurred. Action: Remove all adapters that are not required for system startup and reinstall them one at a time, powering on after each is reinstalled. When this message displays, replace the adapter that you just installed. If you cannot isolate and correct the problem, have the system serviced. A real-time clock (RTC) error occurred. Action: Have the system serviced. The battery on the system board is dead. Attention: Follow the instructions in the battery-safety statement in "Replacing the battery" on page 224. Action: Replace the battery. For additional information on battery use, disposal, and replacement, see "Lithium battery notice" on page xxv and "Replacing the battery" on page 224. You can use the server until you replace the battery. However, you must run the Configuration/Setup Utility program and set the time and date each time that you turn on the server, until you install a new battery. (For instructions on using the Configuration/Setup Utility program, see "Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program" on page 39.) 170 Netfinity 3000 User's Handbook

Description
110
111
A memory parity failure occurred during testing of the system
board.
Action:
Run the diagnostic programs to verify that a problem
exists in a DIMM.
(See “Running the diagnostic test programs”
on page
164 for information on running the diagnostic programs
that come with your server.)
See “Working with memory modules” on page
96 if you need to
reconfigure the system memory to aid in identifying the defective
DIMM.
If this procedure does not help you to identify the defective
DIMM, have the system serviced.
114
An adapter read-only memory (ROM) error occurred.
Action:
Remove all adapters that are not required for system
startup and reinstall them one at a time, powering on after each
is reinstalled.
When this message displays, replace the adapter
that you just installed.
If you cannot isolate and correct the problem, have the system
serviced.
151
A real-time clock (RTC) error occurred.
Action:
Have the system serviced.
161
The battery on the system board is dead.
Attention:
Follow the instructions in the battery-safety statement in
“Replacing the battery” on page
224.
Action:
Replace the battery.
For additional information on
battery use, disposal, and replacement, see “Lithium battery
notice” on page
xxv and “Replacing the battery” on page
224.
You can use the server until you replace the battery.
However,
you must run the Configuration/Setup Utility program and set
the time and date each time that you turn on the server, until
you install a new battery.
(For instructions on using the
Configuration/Setup Utility program, see “Using the
Configuration/Setup Utility program” on page
39.)
