Erasing lost or forgotten passwords 4. Turn off the server. 5. Turn the server back on. 6. CMOS memory is now cleared and the passwords have been erased. After the POST completes, configuration error messages are displayed. Note: You might not be able to turn off the power using the power switch until POST is nearly complete. Unplug the power cord to turn off your server. 7. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue. 8. When the Configuration/Setup Utility program starts, make the necessary changes, save the settings, and exit setup. You must update the server configuration. See "Updating the server configuration" on page 153 for instructions. When you see a message that instructs you to move the jumper to the normal position, turn off the server. 9. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the chassis. 10. Remove the server cover, and move the jumper back to its normal position (pins 1 and 2). 21 3 21 3 1 2 3 11. After clearing CMOS memory, you must reconfigure the server.
