From the Menu: 1 Access Menu No. 151. VOX on Busy You can configure the transceiver to force VOX transmission even if the transceiver is receiving a signal. 1 Access Menu No. 153. 2 Select the desired VOX gain level. VOX Delay Time If the transceiver returns to reception mode too quickly after you stop speaking, the end of your transmission may not be sent. To avoid this, select an appropriate delay time that allows your entire transmission to be sent, before Transmit mode ends. However, do not make the delay overly long. There are 2 ways to adjust the VOX Delay Time. While the VOX function is ON: 1 Press [ ]/[ ] to change the delay time to 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, or 3000 ms. 2 Select [On] or [Off]. [Off]: Do not operate VOX when the operation band is busy. [On]: Operate VOX when the operation band is busy. Note: ¡ You can press [PTT] or [CALL] (if 1750 Hz is programmed) to transmit, regardless of the setting in Menu No. 153. PITCH FREQUENCY This function set the pitch frequency during CW reception. 1 Access Menu No. 170. From the Menu: 1 Access Menu No. 152. 2 Select among from [400] to [1000] Hz. 2 Select [250], [500], [750], [1000], [1500], [2000], or [3000] ms. Note: ¡ If you press [PTT] while the VOX function is ON, the VOX Delay Time is not reflected to the transmission. ¡ If you press [CALL] (if 1750 Hz is programmed) to transmit a 1750 Hz tone, the VOX Delay Time is not reflected. ¡ If the DCS function is ON, the transceiver remains in Transmit mode for the duration set by the VOX Delay Time. It then sends a Turn-Off Code to close the receiving party's squelch. CW REVERSE You can select the USB side [Normal] or LSB side [Reverse]. 1 Press [MODE] to set CW mode. 2 Access Menu No. 171. 3 Select [Reverse] or [Normal]. 12-5

Select the desired VOX gain level.
VOX Delay Time
If the transceiver returns to reception mode too quickly after
you stop speaking, the end of your transmission may not be
sent. To avoid this, select an appropriate delay time that allows
your entire transmission to be sent, before Transmit mode
ends. However, do not make the delay overly long.
There are 2 ways to adjust the VOX Delay Time.
While the VOX function is ON:

1000, 1500, 2000, or 3000 ms.
From the Menu:

Select [250], [500], [750], [1000], [1500], [2000], or [3000]
ms.
Note:

If you press
[PTT]
while the VOX function is ON, the VOX Delay
Time is not reflected to the transmission.

If you press
[CALL]
(if 1750 Hz is programmed) to transmit a
1750 Hz tone, the VOX Delay Time is not reflected.

If the DCS function is ON, the transceiver remains in Transmit
mode for the duration set by the VOX Delay Time. It then sends a
Turn-Off Code to close the receiving party’s squelch.
VOX on Busy
You can configure the transceiver to force VOX transmission
even if the transceiver is receiving a signal.
