INFORMATION BACKLIGHT Sets whether or not to turn on the backlight when APRS, D-STAR signal-receiving interrupt is displayed and when the scanning is paused or stopped. 1 Access Menu No. 907. 3 Select a level, then press [A/B]. 2 Select [Off], [LCD], or [LCD+Key]. [Off]: Notify backlight does not light. [LCD]: Only LCD area is backlit when notified. [LCD+Key]: The backlight of LCD and Key areas is turned on when notification is made. AUDIO EQUALIZER (TX/RX) This function turns on or off the equalizer setting for transmission and receiving. 1 Access Menu No. 911. 4 Press [MENU]. RX Equalizer Change the received voice frequency characteristic. The frequency characteristic of the received voice can be set to the below levels for each of five frequency points. Frequency band [kHz] 0.4 0.8 1.6 Variable range [dB] -9 - 0 - +9 -9 - 0 - +9 -9 - 0 - +9 3.2 -9 - 0 - +9 6.4 -9 - 0 - +9 1 Access Menu No. 913. 2 Select a frequency point, then press [A/B]. 2 Select an item and press [ENT]. 3 Press [A/B]. Check to turn on the equalizer function. Uncheck to turn off the function. RX EQ: Receiving Equalizer Turns On/Off the equalizer function of the received voice. TX EQ (FM, NFM): Transmission Equalizer (Analog Voice) Turns On/Off the equalizer function of the analog transmitted voice. TX EQ (DV): Transmission Equalizer (Digital Voice) Turns On/Off the equalizer function of the digital transmitted voice. TX Equalizer This function changes the transmission voice frequency characteristic. The frequency characteristic of the voice to be transmitted can be set to the below levels for each of four frequency band. Note: ¡ The upper limit of the digital audio bandwidth is 4 kHz. For this reason, if the demodulation mode is DV/DR mode, the setting of 6.4 kHz are not reflected in the received voice. 12-8
