Using esxcfgvswitch -l, obtain a list of the uplinks that are present on the host. In this example, there are two - vmnic0 and vmnic1 - that can be identified on vSwitch0. Use the command esxcfg-vswitch -U , where uplink is an identified uplink and switch is the name of the switch the uplink is connected to, in order to remove the uplinks from the virtual switch. Ensure that you do this for all of the uplinks previously identified. Once completed, verify that all of the uplinks have been removed by using the esxcfg-vswitch -l command again.
